Brandon Fullenkamp
Meridian, Idaho
Brandon Fullenkamp was born in Illinois. He just turned 29 this last year and he’s always loved fishing. He caught his first bass at the age of six and his dad put him in kids tournaments at seven years old. After falling away from bass fishing for a while, he hooked into a smallie in Oregon about 6 years ago fishing a Mr. Twister grub on a ball head and has been “hooked” ever since.
After moving to Idaho three years ago, he’s sacked up some impressive fish. He dedicated himself to big baits and his first fish in Idaho was a 6 lb largemouth. After diversifying a little, Brandon hammered a 7.8 lb stud on a jig. Jigs have become his favorite bait he says.
“I started back into tournament fishing with Jeremy Moreland by doing the CMR(Catch, Measure, Release) style tournaments that Idaho Bass Anglers Association hosts. That’s where I met a few guys that fish IBM currently,” Brandon said.
This will be Brandon’s second year with Idaho Bassmasters and the diversity of places we fish has grown on him. He never liked CJ Strike until after the club Championship and the Snow Bowl. “They forced me fish differently, and I needed that to become a better angler”. If he’s not bass fishing you can find him walking the riverbanks casting jerkbaits for brown trout or at Cascade fishing for perch. Brandon and his partner, Jeremy Moreland, have been fishing together for a few years now. They met at work where he’s a rain gutter installer.
“I love Dworshak, it’s a magical place! I went with Alex Neria from the club a year ago and I can’t wait to go back!”
He has 2 boys, Braxxton and Lucas. Brandon also has a girlfriend, Mikayla, that he’s been with for eight years.
